Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre

One of Ontario’s, most unique marshlands is home to over 200 species of birds native to the Muskoka Georgian Bay area including the common loon and the giant blue heron. Guests see the marsh come alive as they wander across boardwalks and trails throughout the marshlands, or by boarding giant freighter canoes for a guided, interpretive experience. The Wye Marsh is also home for the re-introduction program of the Trumpeter Swan, the largest of North America’s waterfowl.

Martyr’s Shrine

Constructed in the early part of this century, this magnificent Catholic shrine sits high atop a hill and commands a breathtaking view of Georgian Bay. The shrine was built to honor the Jesuits massacred nearby Sainte Marie. It has seen pilgrimages from all over the world and a visit from Pope John Paul II.
